You have arrived — whether by fortune, accident, or the inscrutable machinations of a universe that long ago ceased to care about causality — at the greatest and quite possibly the only theatrical exhibition still operating under this exhausted red sun.

I am Doctor Talos. Physician, playwright, impresario, and — should the occasion demand it — barber-surgeon. Do not be alarmed by the flickering. The lights have always done that. Reality, I find, is a matter of staging.
